Catalyst Experience Programs: Experiential Learning Hub

Catalyst Experience programs are organized in partnership with organizations and communities in Guelph, across Ontario, Canada, and sometimes internationally.  As a participant you (and other amazing Gryphons) will be able to learn about a particular social justice theme in a very hands-on way, while also contributing back to the community.  Catalyst Experiences are an unforgettable part of your time at U of G!

Guelph: Eco-Leadership Outdoor School (April 28-29, 2022) 

Catalyst presents a two-day Ecologically Informed Leadership Outdoor School, April 28-29, 2022. 

About the program:

Leave your laptops behind to participate in an in-person, offline, land-based, experiential, immersive outdoor learning opportunity that will leave you feeling refreshed, inspired and connected to other fellow student leaders and the land around you, while also enhancing your intersectional leadership skills.  

Facilitated by The Guelph Outdoor School, you will learn how to lead with more ecological awareness by exploring the intersectionality of climate issues, action & stewardship. Activities & topics include living land acknowledgments, truth, reconciliation and the land back movement, biomimicry, land and water protection and defense, and how we can take leadership from the land itself.  

Cost:

Free to student participants.  This program is being funded by the Experiential Learning Hub. 

Eligibility:

You must be able to commit to two full days (9-5pm) of program, April 28-29.  This program is open to students of all academic backgrounds.  Interested students must complete an online application.  Program is limited to 15 students.   

Credit:

Successful completion of this Catalyst program will be recognized on your PCDR.
